Crazy stories litter newspapers and blogs every day. But today, my eyes fell on something so outrageous that I just had to blog about it.
Here's the link.
Now this DISGUSTS me. Not just the affair/prostitution - unfortunately, having an extramarital affair or even paying for sex isn't that uncommon these days.
But Mr. Manzo (Chief of Staff to the PA House Majority Leader) couldn't settle for just cheating on his wife and paying a mistress for sex. Instead, he found it convenient to let Pennsylvanians pay for his fun on the side.
That's right, he gave his mistress (Angela Bertugli) a "ghost" job that payed over $35,000/year out of the pockets of PA taxpayers. Bertugli spent 3 days a week getting paid to do her homework on the second floor of a cigar shop.
But we all know what he really paid her for - or should I say what I really paid her for. In fact, she admitted in her grand jury testimony that her taxpayer-funded compensation was really for the sex.
Now some might say Mr. Manzo has gotten screwed enough. But then again, I wouldn't mind seeing him get screwed just one more time - with a 311-year prison sentence.

so disturbing!! :( no bueno.

Unfortunately it is becoming more and more common with fewer and fewer ramifications. Over the weekend I went to a family reunion and multiple times my family joked with me that "there are two places liars go: hell, and Congress." Not only has their belief in the process broken down, but they no longer believe that any politician is capable of telling the truth or of acting in the best interest of his/her constituents.
Politicians like Mr. Manzo need to be prosecuted harshly. I hope he gets what should be coming to him.
